Autumn Equinox

Prosperity Magic at the Autumn Equinox

The Autumn Equinox is a natural time to turn your attention towards prosperity, abundance, and the resources that sustain your life. As the seasons shift and the days begin to shorten, the Equinox offers a moment to pause and take stock of what you have gathered, created, nurtured, and experienced throughout the year.

For a solitary pagan witch, prosperity magic need not be concerned solely with money or material possessions. Abundance can take many forms, and your magical practice can reflect whatever genuinely contributes to a fulfilling and secure life. Food, shelter, health, friendship, love, creativity, knowledge, opportunities, confidence, time, and spiritual fulfilment can all be understood as forms of prosperity.

The Autumn Equinox is therefore an opportunity to consider where abundance is already present in your life. Before asking for more, take time to recognise what you already possess. This does not mean ignoring difficulties or pretending that everything is plentiful. Instead, it is a way of bringing awareness to the resources, relationships, skills, and experiences that may otherwise be overlooked.

A simple prosperity working can be created around symbols that have personal meaning. Place a selection of objects on your altar that represent the kind of abundance you wish to encourage. You might use grains or seeds to represent nourishment and future growth, coins to represent financial security, herbs associated with prosperity, fruit to represent the rewards of cultivation, or stones and other natural objects that remind you of stability and strength.

Light a candle and spend a few quiet moments reflecting on what sustains you. Consider the things you have worked to build and the things that have come to you unexpectedly. You might ask yourself: What does prosperity truly mean to me? What do I need more of in my life? What do I already have in abundance?

Once you have reflected, state your intention clearly. Keep it practical as well as magical. Rather than simply wishing for wealth, you might focus on attracting opportunities, developing greater financial security, finding meaningful work, strengthening supportive relationships, or having the time and freedom to pursue your creative interests.

You can write your intention on a piece of paper and place it beneath your candle, or hold one of your chosen symbols while visualising your desired circumstances. Allow the candle to represent the steady growth of your intention as you move from one season into the next.

When the working is complete, give some thought to how you can participate in the abundance you seek. Prosperity magic can work alongside practical action: saving money, learning a new skill, tending relationships, caring for your health, creating something, or making better use of the resources already available to you.

The Autumn Equinox reminds us that abundance is not simply something to possess. It can also be something to recognise, cultivate, share, and renew. By combining gratitude with intention and practical action, your prosperity practice can become a meaningful part of your solitary seasonal observance.
