There are moments when everything seems to come together.
They cannot necessarily be scheduled.
They cannot always be recreated.
They simply happen.
We might call such an experience the Owl’s Blink.
It is that brief magical moment when imagination, surroundings, emotion, intuition and circumstance suddenly seem to meet.
Perhaps you are alone late at night.
The wind is battering the trees outside.
You have been thinking about something for days without finding an answer.
Then suddenly something changes.
Your imagination comes alive.
An answer appears.
You experience an unexpected vision or powerful emotion.
For a few seconds or perhaps several minutes, the ordinary world seems slightly less ordinary.
Then it passes.
The wind continues blowing.
The room becomes a room again.
You return to making tea, feeding the cat or wondering what you were supposed to be doing tomorrow.
But something happened.
The experience belonged to that particular moment.
